Want to feel like you’re in a smoky jazz bar without the potential for lung cancer? Marian Hill’s “Lovit” has you covered.
Though one might infer from the name that Marian Hill is a solo artist, it turns out that Marian Hill is actually a two person band. Jeremy Lloyd handles production and some writing duties, while Samantha Gongol provides the sultry vocals.
According to their website, the group’s musical influences range “from Ella Fitzgerald to Drake,” though “Lovit” is far more Ella than Aubrey.
The group also shares a name with a 1910s silent film actress.
Marian Hill’s five-song album “Play” is available for $5 on their website.
